Team Fortress 2 Beta Begins Next Week
Pre-purchase The Orange Box for access.

September 11, 2007 - Today Valve announced a pre-purchase program for The Orange Box that will give gamers early access to Team Fortress 2. Buy the game from Steam (Valve's download service) before its release on October 9 and you'll not only receive ten percent off the regular $49.95 price tag, you will also gain entry into the Team Fortress 2 beta, beginning September 17.
The Orange Box, of course, includes Half-Life 2, Episodes 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. Players who already own Half-Life 2 or Episode 1 will be able to "gift" these titles to a friend upon the Box's release.
As a casual bonus, Orange Box pre-purchasers will also receive a copy of Peggle Extreme. Valve has teamed up with PopCap to deliver an Orange Box-themed edition of Peggle Deluxe, the fast-paced puzzle game combining elements of pinball and pachinko.

It's amazingly good value even if you only need the 3 new parts. Separately on Steam, they add up to nearly $80
